DHD Announces they were selected to design the Feature Home at the
2011 IX Center. Together with CMJ Development a masterpiece Feature
Home situated inside the IX Center was created in 37 days. Complete
with a pool, playground, and basketball court perfect for a vacation
getaway. Designer Stephanie Schwarz created the interior of the home
around this photo called Midnight Moon. The picture taken by Mindy
Garvin and was the basis of the color palette and theme idea.
"I was inspired by the eerily sophisticated feeling of the photo. I based
most of the interior design and material components around the idea of a
tranquil, retreat environment feeling. Every decision was influenced by
this image that touched my vision of this home."
"The first selection I made was the Midnight Sun granite from Mont
Granite. It mirrors the colors and also added a touch of glimmer with the
MICA that is in the granite. All the granite I selected was donated by Mont
Granite located in Solon, Ohio."
"The second selection was the stone for the fireplaces which were all
done in various natural charcoal colors. The installers did a fabulous job
working with these materials to provide a cozy warm look to the home."
"All the flooring I selected was from Mohawk and Armstrong. The Smart
Strand carpeting is very soft and the colors are all very soothing to the
eye. The wood flooring is an engineered Maple from Bruce Flooring and
the color is chesapeake. I brought the wood into the upstairs halls to
allow each room a different carpet texture and color combination."
